We have drafts of our case study background due tomorrow, so
there was a lot of work to do today!
Ume, Mike, and I agreed to meet at KCMC at 10am to work together. We worked until about 5pm and then Ume and I
went to the basketball courts so I could run sprints. When we got to the basketball courts, these
two guys were playing and Ume and I ended up playing 2 v 2 with them before I
ran, haha. I’m not very good at
basketball…but Kelvin (one of the guys) and I won!
I got home just in time for dinner—mama served pilaw, mboga,
and watermelon. Pilaw is my favorite
dish here. I asked mama to teach me how
to make it! After dinner, Adrienne and I
hung out with mama and Delke for a little bit.
We learned that Delke is slightly blind and has a hole in his heart (but
he will grow into it and it will be fine).
Poor Delke L. We asked mama how he was doing in school and
she said he was doing well and went to get some of his work to show us. She showed us 5 of his assignments—he
received an 80% on a math assignment, but then 2 50%’s and 2 4%’s on simple
writing assignments. I think he has a learning
disability, so maybe those scores are improvements. I didn’t want to ask questions.
The rest of the night, I just worked on my paper. Tomorrow, we are interviewing healthcare
workers and accident victims in the orthopedic ward at KCMC.
