Today has been a very, very long day. I don’t even want to type up this blog
because all I want to do right now is go to bed… haha. Nothing exciting really happened today though,
so this is going to be short.
In class, we had a couple lectures on how to conduct
interviews with our stakeholders, and how to conduct ethical research. We had to submit a list of specific subjects
we will interview next week, and we had to submit an outline of our background
section. Tomorrow, we have to submit our
interview questions and a consent form.
I drafted a consent form in English today and Chana translated it to
Swahili. The Tanzanians are not very
tech savvy (they are always impressed when we make charts and graphs on
powerpoint, and they are equally impressed with our ability to type fast). I was watching Chana type today and now I
understand why he is impressed with the way we type. He only used his two pointer fingers, and he
typed approximately 1 letter every 2 seconds.
Also, instead of using the “shift” key, he would turn caps lock on and
off whenever he wanted to capitalize a letter.
He looked so amazed when I showed him that the shift key can serve that
function, hahah.’
After school, I was able to facetime my parents and auntie
Ruth for a little bit so that was nice.
The mountain was peaking out of the clouds, so I was able to show them
that. I also saw Chloe for the first
time in a while! Poor pup has a cone on
her head and a hole in her side from when Adrianna’s dog bit her. After talking to my parents, Adrienne and I
left school and when we got home, we both took naps and I didn’t wake up until
dinner time. Now I’m done eating dinner
and am going to go back to sleep…
